Pakistan, full of confidence after their Test series win over India, have been installed as 8/15 (1.53) favourites with bet365 to make it a double by winning the best-of-five match one-day series, which begins in Peshawar on Monday.
And well should they be confident as they go into the series on a hot streak in the one-day game, having won 10 of their past 12 matches and eight of their past 10 against India, who must be fearing another defeat.
Everything is going swimmingly for Pakistan at the moment. Having beaten England, they followed up with a deserved win over a good India side, and they are brimming with confidence that has many people talking about them as candidates for World Cup success next year.
Their balance looks good. Captain Inzamam is back and raring to go, while at the top of the order - or frankly wherever he bats - Kamran Akmal looks a real find, having already notched up three one-day hundreds in his short international career.
With Shoaib Akhtar giving his all with the ball, and the likes of Danish Kaneria offering subtlety and choice, Pakistan are worthy favourites and their batsmen will be licking their lips after plundering a host of runs in the Test series.
Inzamam and Mohammad Yousuf are 4/1 (5.00) joint favourites to be Pakistan's top-scorer in Peshawar, while Salman Butt and Younis Khan are 9/2 (5.50) and the aforementioned Akmal is 5/1 (6.00). Beyond them, the ever-dangerous and now in-form Shahid Afridi is 8/1 (9.00).
India will no doubt be smarting from what happened in the Test series but they have the quality to bounce back with a one-day series win. Sachin Tendulkar may have not passed 40 in 10 of his last 12 games, but the maestro is still favourite at 7/2 (4.50) to be his side's top runscorer in Peshawar.
Virender Sehwag, who seems to love playing against Pakistan, is 4/1 (5.00) while captain Rahul Dravid is 5/1 (6.00) and Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh are both 6/1 (7.00). Mahendra Dhoni, a fine player further down the order, is 13/2 (7.50).
