Former leg-spin wizard Abdul Qadir has withdrawn from the three-man
bowling committee constituted to study the action of paceman Shoaib
Akhtar.
According to information, Qadir has pulled out in protest claiming
that he was not being treated equally by the present hierarchy.
"I will convey my decision (to the PCB) in the next 48 hours. But I
have made up my mind that I will not accept this assignment," Qadir
said.
Qadir had also refused to accept a coaching assignment in the cricket
academy after he was reportedly told to first get the guidance from
the foreign coach Geoffrey Boycott.
Sources close to Qadir, however, said the former Test star has refused
to work on honorary basis arguing that if foreigners can be paid
handsomely, he too had a claim after serving the country with pride
and distinction.
