Delhi beat Jammu and Kashmir by the handsome margin of 92 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi in the Ranji One-Day championship. If the home side were disappointed at losing the toss, that would have changed in a hurry. On the back of a breezy century from twenty-one year old Sohail Rauf, the Delhi side amassed 279 in their allotted fifty overs. Stumper Pradeep Chawla was behind Rauf, but only slightly. Making an unbeaten 91 off just 84 balls with seven boundaries and a six, Chawla's innings was a fine foil to Rauf's 102 (109 balls, 6 fours, 2 sixes). The two shared a 177 run partnership for the fifth wicket and saw Delhi through to 279.
Against the Delhi bowling lineup, the J & K team had little chance of overhauling the total. Robin Singh Jr with 3/27 was the pick of the Delhi bowlers even as J & K slumped to 187 all out. Sanjay Sharma made 37 in the middle of the innings but there was no hope at all. Losing by 92 runs, J & K return home empty handed while Delhi claim two points from the clash.
