A summit to discuss a potential six-year programme of international cricket will be held in the new ICC office premises in Dubai Media City on 25-26 August.
Representatives from all ICC Full Member boards plus an Associate Member representative, a players' representative and a representative of the Asian Cricket Council will meet to discuss a draft proposal that could see the scheduling of international cricket move from a five-year cycle to six years.
This ICC Scheduling Summit will be followed by a meeting of the ICC Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) on 28-29 August. The CEC will make decisions on a range of matters relating to the playing of cricket as well as making recommendations on the business of cricket for consideration by the ICC Board.
This will include proposals emanating from the Scheduling Summit; consideration of the match schedule for next year's ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka; discussions on the role of Twenty20 cricket in the international arena and discussions relating to rankings of non-Test playing countries.
These meetings will be preceded by the Board Umpires Managers' meeting which will take place on 23-24 August. This meeting will bring together umpiring representatives from all of the ICC Full Member boards to discuss a range of umpiring matters.
There will be a media conference in the boardroom of the new ICC office at 4.30pm on Wednesday 24 August at which ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed will preview the meetings. Media interested in attending should contact sheila.razdan@icc-cricket.com to provide notice of their intended attendance.
