Tom Sears is to step down as Derbyshire's chief executive after three years in charge to take up a business development post with New Zealand Cricket.
Sears, who joined the county from Worcestershire in 2005, is widely credited with turning round their finances. When he took over they were making losses, but a restructuring programme had led to them reporting profits in the last two years.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Derbyshire and am pleased with the progress we have made," Sears said. "I hope most members and supporters feel the club is in a better position now than it was four years ago."
"Tom has made a fantastic contribution during his time with the club and under his leadership the executive team have made tremendous strides in turning the business around," Don Amott, Derbyshire's chairman, said. "The challenge for us now is to find someone who can continue to help us move forward, provide the continuity we need and forge strong working relationships with myself and our head of cricket John Morris."
Keith Loring, the club's former head of commercial, has been named as Sears' successor.
