Seventh wicket pair Chris Wheeler and Nigel Bungay flayed 45 runs off the final four overs to earn Winchester K.S. a breathtaking Southern Premier League Division 2 victory over Hambledon, with just two balls to spare.
Despite another fine knock by Paul Marks (60), it tooked all up when spin pair Simon Barnard (3-52) and Ian Turner (1-18 in 12 overs) reduced WInchester to 146-6 in responce to Hambledon's 204-8.
But Wheeler (40*) and Bungay (22*) laid siege to returning opening bowlers Gary Shotton and Ed Saxell to give Winchester a thrilling win.
With the aid of 52 extras, heartbroken Hambledon recovered from an uncertain 24-3 to reach 204-8.
Middle-order trio Simon James (43), John Burdekin (39) and Simon Barnard (30) revived Hambledon's fortunes.
A career-best 122 by Ben Craft swept Lymington towards an unexpected 96-run victory over Old Tauntonians and Romsey, who slipped from second to fourth place.
The lanky Craft peppered the Sports Ground boundaries, hitting a six and 14 fours.
He shared productive partnerships with Dave Coles (29) and Stuart Simkins (32) as Lymington powered to 250-5.
Charles Forward (36) got OTR away to a flying start but from 65-0, the visitors fell away badly. University duo Phil Pineo (5-41) and Will Gillions (3-28) did the damage as OTs tumbled to 153 all otu (Stuart Tulk 45*).
OTs defeat strengthened Portsmouth's hold on the Division One leadership - the table toppers trimming Hursley Park by 27 runs at Drayton Park.
Portsmouth were wobbling at 20-3 after an early burst by Chris Tremlett (4-25), but an undefeated 63 by Chris Moon, supported by Andy Pitts (27), lifted spirits and the total to 159-7.
Iain Brunnschweiler (51) led Hursley's response, but wickets tumbled regularly to Dave Tiller (4-24) and Paul Dew (3-23) as the visitors slipped to 132 all out.
Former Hampshire all-rounder Matthew Keech (84) and Damien Carson (79) shared a stand of 141 as United Services swept to a six-wicket win over Trojans at Burnaby Road.
Jon Gillespie (40), Lee Wateridge (35), Nigel LeBas (34) and Tim Subnaik (29) all made their mark as Trojans scored 209 - television reporter Andy Ford returning 5-32.
Liphook and Ripsley's batsmen ran amok, as Graham Tyler (81), Jerry Bulled (48), Chris Wright (39) and Steve Riley (38) leading the way as Alton's attack were mauled for 260-6. Richie Morgan (73) top scored as Alton fell away to 167 all out, Mayu Pasupati taking 3-42.
