Will Sri Lanka be at ICC AGM?
The appointment of an interim body to look after cricket until the
next date of hearing of the injunction on the Executive Committee of
the Board of Control for Cricket - September 8 May lead to further
confusion regarding Sri Lanka's representation at the annual general
meeting of the ICC scheduled to be held on June 24 in London.
According to well informed sources the Minister of Sports, Mr. S. B.
Dissanayake who is expected to finalise the interim body tomorrow has
not dissolved the Board of Control for Cricket. Only after the
dissolution can an interim body be appointed.
It is also rumoured in cricketing circles that Sri Lanka may be left
in the cold regarding the country's participation in the annual
general meeting of the ICC as that august body recognises only
elected persons. (L.G)
