Test at Asgiriya
Asgiriya Cricket Stadium will be given a Test match during the
triangular test series involving Sri Lanka, India and Australia in
September.
This has been conveyed to the Kandy Regional Cricket Board by the
BCCSL in order to make the necessary ground arrangements.
Jayasuriya, innovator of 'catch it' leaves for England
Bertram C. Jayasuriya, the innovator of the now popular 'Catch It'
close in fielding machine, left for England to watch some of the
World Cup games and also market the 'Catch It' machine.
This machine has been recommended by cricket experts as ideal for the
improvement of close in catching.
Jayasuriya has received orders from clubs and schools and many
machines are on the assembly lines.
This is not a profit-making venture or a business.
With the Sri Lanka fielding, especially the close in catching at a
low ebb, it prompted me to invent a machine that will be not only a
help to the Sri Lankan cricketers, but also to club an school
cricketers to improve their close catching said Jayasuriya on the eve
of his departure.
