Kaluwitharne contradicts 'Island' story
The 'Island' and 'Divaina' newspapers today reported a totally
distorted version of what I was made to understand to be a friendly
chat the writer of the said article had with me. It is a fact that I
became ill during the Asian Test Championship and that I have been
medically advised to rest for a while in view of the fact that I have
been playing cricket continuously for a long duration and especially
in view of the forthcoming World Cup.
I wish to inform the cricket loving public that the writer who called
me under the guise of inquiring about my health has quoted me totally
out of context and in a manner calculated to make out that I have a
dispute with the BCCSL and the selectors over my non-inclusion in the
team participating in the Indian Tour.
