Toss UAE chose to field against Afghanistan
UAE have won the toss and elected to put Afghanistan in to bat. UAE captain Muhammad Waseem expected the surface to remain true throughout the contest, and said it allowed him to back his side to chase down the Afghan total.
Both sides need a win to get off the mark having lost to Pakistan on the opening two days of the tournament. Each side was unsuccessful in a chase; with Afghanistan's historical strength considered to be defending a total, making Waseem's decision at the toss strategically intriguing.
Afghanistan make one change, bringing in spin-bowling allrounder Sharafuddin Ashraf. Noor Ahmed continues to remain on the sidelines. UAE, too, make a change, with batter Alishan Sharfu sitting out in favour of seam bowler Muhammad Rohid.

Afghanistan: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, Darwish Rasooli, Karim Janat, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan (capt), Mohammad Nabi, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Fazalhaq Farooqi
