Tillakaratne Dilshan overtook Jonathan Trott's tally of 422 runs to become the leading run-scorer in the 2011 World Cup. He currently has 467 runs at 66.71, with Kumar Sangakkara third on 417.

New Zealand have now lost in each of the six World Cup finals that they have contested.

Sri Lanka have progressed to the final for the second consecutive World Cup, having also reached the semi-final in 2003, where they lost to Australia.

Muttiah Muralitharan claimed a wicket with the last ball he will ever bowl in home internationals. His legendary 19-year career will end in the World Cup final on Saturday, where he has a chance to add to his tally of 1347 international wickets.
