Sussex Announce New Head Groundsman

Sussex CCC today announced the appointment of their new Head Groundsman, Derek Traill, a 36 year old Scotsman, who will commence work at the County Ground, Hove on September 4th.

Derek has been Head Groundsman at Aberdeen Cricket Club for the past five years and is currently Pitch Advisor to the Scottish Cricket Union.

David Gilbert, Chief Executive, is delighted that Derek has agreed to join the Club:

"Derek's expertise in pitch preparation is complemented by his computer literacy and a sound knowledge of Health & Safety law. He very much represents the new breed of groundsmen.

One of his first duties upon joining us will be to oversee the relaying of wickets of the Hove square."
