Tasmania claimed their first Pura Cup points of the season dismissing South Australia for 290, with Xavier Doherty, the left-arm spinner, finishing with a five-wicket haul.
The day began with South Australia shakily placed at 6 for 128 but Graham Manou, their captain, led a spirited fightback as he raced to 97 from 105 balls. Along with Dan Cullen (42), he added 134 for the eight wicket, before being stumped while trying to hit Doherty out of the ground.
Starting their second innings 85 runs ahead, Tasmania lost wickets at regular intervals but Michael Bevan held fort at one end. He smashed 15 fours in his 135-ball knock, whoch helped them consolidate their position.
