Mohammed Siraj may have won India the Oval Test and been one of the heroes of their 2-2 draw in England, but when it comes to gaining cool creds, he still needs some guidance from his younger colleagues.
After bowling out Gus Atkinson when England were only seven runs away from a series victory, Siraj was soaking in the win with his team-mates. Fellow fast bowler Arshdeep Singh suggested a post for Siraj's followers on social media, acting out what Siraj had to say. "Say 'Pressure', pause a bit, and then say, 'What pressure?' Arshdeep told Siraj.
"Story or post," asked Siraj.
"A reel - that's it, just a two-second one," exclaimed Arshdeep, looking at his senior team-mate like he was a grandpa asking how to answer the phone.
"I have to teach him everything except how to bowl," Arshdeep said to the camera.
India started the final day of the series needing four wickets to win with only 34 runs to defend. In his first over of the day, Siraj got Jamie Smith to nick one to the keeper and then in his next, he trapped allrounder Jamie Overton lbw, and the pressure was on England with 20 more to get.
They added only three more to their total when Prasidh Krishna bowled No. 10 Josh Tongue and in walked the injured Chris Woakes, with his arm in a sling. He hung around as Gus Atkinson whittled down the target, but with seven to go, Siraj knocked off his off stump and sealed a very memorable win.
