In spite of limited on-the-field preparations in the last week, the
West Indies junior team headed for London yesterday in an upbeat mood
for the Costcutter Under-15 World Challenge.
'Our watchword has been quality,' team coach Gus Logie told
Nationsport just before the team departed Grantley Adams International
Airport yesterday.
'We stress on quality in everything we do, everything we say and
everything we will attempt to do on the tour.'
The team's build-up was hampered by heavy rain during a nine-day camp
in Trinidad, but Logie said it was still beneficial.
West Indies' other preliminary matches are against England next Monday
and against India on August 2.
The semifinals are scheduled for August 8 and the final, which will be
played at Lord's, is on August 10.
Renaldo Parris is the lone Barbadian in the team which will be
captained by Tishan Maraj, one of six selectees from Trinidad and
Tobago.
