Veteran Peter Bowler and Aaron Laraman set to face Scottish Saltires on Sunday

SOMERSET

Somerset will be looking to recapture their one day form when they entertain the Scottish Saltires at the County Ground in the National Cricket League on Sunday.
So far this season the Sabres have been successful in just one of their six NCL League starts in 2003 and are currently firmly rooted at the bottom of Division Two, and last weekend were beaten by table topping Northamptonshire at Bath.
On Sunday afternoon the Sabres will be eager to make amends for their defeat in Edinburgh earlier in the year when they were surprisingly beaten by the Saltires in a rain affected match.
Since then the Scottish side have added Lancashire who they beat at Old Trafford,to their list of first class scalps, and have been strengthened by the signing of Indian Test star Raoul Dravid.
The Sabres side will be missing their England players Marcus Trescothick, Andy Caddick and Richard Johnson, whilst West Indian paceman Nixon McLean who is recovering from injury is also likely to be missing.
All rounder Keith Parsons may also miss out after suffering an injury to his knee whilst fielding during the Twenty20 Cup game against Warwickshire on Friday evening.
Despite their poor one-day form Somerset were in positive mood looking forward to Sunday's fixture.
Rob Turner told me: "They are a decent side and have proved it by beating other county sides. However we are all very keen to get back on track in this competition and we will be taking Sunday's match very seriously indeed, and looking for the right result."
Looking ahead to the match against the Saltires, coach Kevin Shine said: "We are looking at Sunday as a game that we have to win, and we will be going all out to get maximum points from the fixture."
Veteran batsman Peter Bowler and fit again Aaron Laraman are recalled to the squad in place of James Bryant and Michael Parsons, and if Keith Parsons is forced to stand down because of his injury Wes Durston or Gareth Andrew, who fielded as twelfth man on Friday may well be drafted in.
