The Barbados Fire & Commercial Shield competition resumes today with
two matches at vastly different stages. At Black Rock, 1998 champions
BRC will oppose Psychiatric Hospital, while Fustic United are up
against Bartel Prison Officers in a replayed second round match at
Checker Hall,St. Lucy.
The rain-affected match, originally played on July 9, was won by
Fustic by one run.
Prison Officers, however protested that the umpires arrived at the
incorrect target score.
The competition'ssub-committee ruled that the match be replayed last
Sunday, but there was a protest from Fustic who felt they should not
have been penalised.
The BCA board then ruled that the match be replayed after all.
Most roads should lead to Black Rock today for the clash in
whichPsychiatric Hospital will be seeking to continue their recent
good form.
Never a major force at this level, they surprised everyone with an
upset win over Yorkshire in the second round and followed with another
close victory against Garrison in the quarterfinals.
Apart from a place in the final, at stake is a Man-Of-The-Match award
of $500 sponsored by Life of Barbados. The adjudicator is new BCA
board member Clinton St. Hill.
Both matches startat 11 a.m.
