South Africa v New Zealand, 2012-13
Wisden's review of the third Twenty20, South Africa v New Zealand, 2012-13

15-Apr-2013
At Port Elizabeth, December 26, 2012. South Africa won by 33 runs. Toss: South Africa.
Normal service was resumed. Davids completed a memorable debut series with a confident 68,
assisted by the recalled Ontong in a stand of 89, and South Africa's total proved insurmountable on
another tricky, two-paced pitch. Both Guptill and Brendon McCullum perished attempting to up the
rate, and the contest was all but finished by the tenth over. Fringe players McLaren and Aaron
Phangiso, a left-arm spinner from a township near Pretoria, looked every bit potential match-winners,
returning identical figures in different circumstances. This was the first year since readmission that
South Africa had not played a Test match on Boxing Day.
Man of the Match: H. Davids.
