Worcestershire are looking to sign allrounder Justin Kemp as a short-term replacement for another South African, Andrew Hall. Hall is in South Africa's one-day squad for the NatWest Series.
Tom Moody, Worcestershire's director of cricket, said: "Justin is one of South Africa's up and coming all-rounders and his talents will be very much needed and called upon during the next couple of weeks." Kemp will be registered for one National League and two Championship matches, but the deal will be subject to the approval of the United Cricket Board of South Africa.
Worcestershire have also signed Steve Adshead as cover for injured wicketkeepers Steve Rhodes and Jamie Pipe.
