Bhuvneshwar, Muzarabani and flying stumps

T20 matches can turn on one or two inspired overs, and today it was Graeme Cremer's early spell of legspin that really pulled the game in Zimbabwes favour. India were 57 for 1 when Cremer struck with his very first delivery, zipping the ball under M Vijay's bat. Two dots later he beat Manish Pandey's flick with a wrong 'un, and though the lbw decision may have been a fortunate one, his over was the pivot on which the match turned.

Zimbabwe's fielding hasn't been at its best in this series, but there was a noticeable upsurge in their efforts today. Sean Williams' caught-and-bowled was sharp, and his catch on the deep midwicket boundary to get rid of Axar Patel wasn't bad either. But it was Chamu Chibhabha who pouched the catch of the day. Chibhabha was stationed at long-off and had to wheel in very quickly when Stuart Binny shoveled a flighted delivery in his direction. Chibhabha tumbled forward at a dead sprint to clutch onto the ball inches from the turf, his team-mates running in from every corner of the field to congratulate him.

Taurai Muzarabani has come into Zimbabwe's XI on the strength of his bowling, and his nerveless spell at the death helped his team to close out the match. But perhaps his finest moment came in the field, when he swooped in from deep midwicket with the batsmen chancing a second run. 'Zhaik', as his team-mates call him, picked the ball up cleanly but was completely off balance as he shied at the stumps. Yet he hit the timber directly to run Kedar Jadhav out and reduce India to 69 for 5.

Axar has taken more wickets on this tour, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar has probably been the pick of India's bowlers. His pinpoint final over in the first ODI denied Zimbabwe a rare victory, and he was on the mark with his yorkers once again today. He started his final over, the 19th of the innings, with an inswinging toecrusher that rattled Chamu Chibhabha's stumps and five deliveries later castled Craig Ervine with an identical delivery.
