Nazmul Hossain, a 17-year-old right-arm seamer, has been included in Bangladesh's squad for their second Test against India, which starts at Chittagong on Friday.
Nazmul hasn't played a first-class game yet, but made his ODI debut during the Champions Trophy tournament in England earlier this year. He will have fond memories of the MA Aziz Stadium, the venue of the second Test: all his four ODI wickets have come at this ground, against New Zealand just over a month ago. He took 4 for 40 in that game to restrict New Zealand to 224 before the batsmen botched up the run-chase.
The selectors decided to retain their faith in Rajin Saleh despite his poor run in recent times: he bagged a pair in the first Test, and has only scored 78 runs in his last seven innings, including four ducks. This led to speculation that he could be dropped for the Chittagong match, and while the selectors have given him one more chance, another failure against India could well put him on the sidelines for the series against Zimbabwe.
