Dew affected Sehwag's back

A round-up of IPL news on April 18, 2013

Virender Sehwag absence towards the closing stages of Delhi Daredevils' tight match in Bangalore was due to recurrence of his back problem because of the dew. Sehwag left the field after 17 overs in the second innings and thus, couldn't come out to bat during the Super Over.
"Yesterday evening was a cool one and there was a lot of dew. This led to the recurrence of Viru's back problem. Suddenly there was a lot of stiffness in his back and he was unable to stand on the field. There was no other option but to send Pawan Negi as the substitute fielder," a Daredevils support staff said on Wednesday.
The batsman, though, remains available for Thursday's match against Super Kings.
Du Plessis arrives in Chennai
Faf du Plessis, who was the first-choice opener for Chennai Super Kings last season, has arrived in Chennai. But he won't be able to take part immediately as the Super Kings squad is already in Delhi. The team will continue to Kolkata for their next match on Saturday. Du Plessis is likely to be available for Super Kings' home game against Rajasthan Royals. "Back in my second home Chennai. Long day of traveling but lovely to be back. Great energy here," du Plessis tweeted.
The news of du Plessis' arrival would have come as a boost for Super Kings, whose top order, apart from a strong partnership between Michael Hussey and M Vijay in Mohali, has appeared fragile this season. Du Plessis scored 398 runs, with three half-centuries, at a strike rate of 130.92 last season.
