Clubs name squads for 2011-12 HKCA Premier League

Hong Kong's leading cricket clubs have announced their respective 16-man squads for the 2011-12 HKCA Premier League, which starts on Sunday, 4th September 2011.

Teams from Hong Kong Cricket Club, Kowloon Cricket Club, Little Sai Wan Cricket Club and Pakistan Association will be joined by a fifth team called the "Lightning XI" which will comprise players from the various independent cricket clubs in Hong Kong and be coached by Hong Kong National Coach, Charlie Burke.

The squads named are:

Hong Kong Cricket Club: Courtney Kruger (Captain), Mark Ferguson (WK), Michael Jamieson, Stuart Henwood, Tim Parker, Mark Wright, Stephen Lowe, Nick Armstrong, Chris Williams, Andrew Swan, James Peterson, Andrew Norwood, Andrew Nicholls, David Varley, Anshuman Rath, Paul Muchall.

Kowloon Cricket Club: Peter Wooden (Captain), Ravi Sujanani, Shivang Baid, Sunny Bhimsaria, Ateeq Rehman, Afzaal Haider, Karan Shah, Waqar Dawood, Roy Lamsam, Babar Hayat, Dylan Dearing, Kinchit Shah, Aditya Kanthan, Nigel Shroff, Waqas Barkat (WK), Lou Vincent.

Little Sai Wan Cricket Club: Moner Ahmed (Captain), Haseeb Amjad, Furquan Tahir (WK), Naveed Akther, Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed, Niaz Ali, Tabarak Dar, Shakeel Haq, Amanat Khan, Asif Khan, Nizakat Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Wakas Khan, Suresh Pandey, Amandeep Singh.

Pakistan Association: Hussain Butt, Najeeb Amar, Ankur Sharma, Mohammad Aizaz Khan, Tanwir Afzal, Anas Khan, Mudassar Hussain, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ishtiaq, Muhammad Ilyas Gull, Khan Uwaise, Rizwan Masood Raja, Amir Nawaz, Atif Matloob, Qasim Butt, Khalid Khan.

Lightning XI: Nasir Hameed (Captain), Sher Lama, Azam Mohammad, Buddhika Perera, Daljeet Singh, Jamshed Khan, Jahanzheb Khan, Kelum Pathiranga Chaturanga, Kamran Khan, Kaushal Karunsena, Mohammad Sohail, Mukthar Ahmed, Nilantha Wijekoon, Sarwar Shan, Supun Thilina Kellapatha, Yasir Khan.

The 2011-12 HKCA Premier League is a new elite cricket competition designed to give the best players in Hong Kong a higher standard of cricket. The competition features five rounds of one-day matches and five rounds of two-day matches with all matches played on turf wickets.

The opening round of the competition will be played on 4th September 2011 with Hong Kong Cricket Club playing Little Sai Wan Cricket Club at HKCC and Kowloon Cricket Club taking on the Lightning XI at KCC. The first two-day round will take place over the weekend of 10-11 September 2011.

Television coverage of the Premier League matches will be provided by NowTV and match highlights will be broadcast each week.
