Sanjay Jagdale, the former Madhya Pradesh allrounder and national selector from Central Zone, is set to become the next joint secretary of the Indian board.
"After giving the matter some thought, I've given my consent," he told the Kolkata-based Telegraph. " I'm looking forward to the new role." Jagdale has been the manager of the Indian team on several tours and is the secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.
Jagdale, whose term as national selector finishes in a little more than a week, will succeed Punjab's Mohinder Pandove, who is tipped to take over as the treasurer. The decisions will be confirmed at the BCCI's annual general meeting (AGM), to be held in Mumbai on September 27 and 28.
After the AGM, Shashank Manohar, president of the Vidarbha Cricket Association and presently BCCI vice-president from Central Zone, will succeed Sharad Pawar as president of the BCCI. He was chosen as president-elect for a three-year term (2008-2011) at the Indian board's 2006-07 AGM.
