Former Mysore captain Linganath Subbu died in Bangalore, aged 83, after prolonged illness. Subbu played 18 first-class matches from 1951 to 1960.
A right-hand batsman and medium-pacer, Subbu represented Mysore, Madhya Pradesh and South Zone in domestic cricket. His first-class debut came in the 1951-52 Ranji Trophy semi-final in which Bombay beat Mysore by an innings and seven runs. He scored 581 runs in 27 innings and took 23 wickets at an average of 28.13 in 18 matches.
