Naman Ojha, the Madhya Pradesh wicketkeeper, has signed a one-year contract with the Rajasthan Royals before the second season of the IPL gets underway on April 10.
"I will join the team in last week of March or first week of April," Ojha told PTI. "Rajasthan first approached me in August 2008 and since then talks were going on to include me the squad."
A capable top-order batsman, Ojha made his first-class debut in 2000-01 and has since scored 3164 runs at 32.95. He has tasted success in the limited-overs format and most recently made his mark in the Challenger Trophy, scoring 96 for India Green. Rajasthan, the defending champions, have invested in talented youngsters suited to the Twenty20 game. Following the success of Goa's Swapnil Asnodkar in the first IPL season, they recently signed up Kerala's Raiphi Gomez.
