Nasir Jamshed, the Pakistan opener, will return home after pulling his hamstring in the first match of the one-day series against Australia, team manager Yawar Saeed said Sunday.
"It's unfortunate that Jamshed will have to return home on Sunday evening after it was diagnosed that his hamstring injury will take some time to heal," Saeed told AFP. "We have sought no replacement for him."
Jamshed, 19, was injured while fielding, and batted with a runner, during Pakistan's four-wicket win in Wednesday's series opener. He had been replaced by 17-year-old Ahmed Shehzad for the second ODI on Friday.
Wednesday's one-dayer was his first in nearly ten months, after missing the series against West Indies in Abu Dhabi last November due to an illness, and not finding a place for the home games against Sri Lanka.
