Australia v Zimbabwe 10th ODI 2000-2001

At Hobart, January 30

15-Apr-2002
At Hobart, January 30. Australia won by six wickets. Toss: Australia.
International debut: B. J. Haddin.
Zimbabwe's batsmen flourished in a rare daylight game, but their bowlers failed to defend a target of 280. Campbell scored 124, a Hobart record, with ten fours and a six, and added 101 with Andy Flower before Warne removed them both in one over. Stumping Campbell off a wide gave Brad Haddin his first international dismissal, though he had already contributed to the run-out of Whittall. Zimbabwe were convinced that Symonds, opening in place of the resting Gilchrist, was caught behind first ball - Campbell was later fined for his comments - and could only smart as he smashed 60 (47 balls, 12 fours) out of 89 in 13 overs. Mark Waugh, playing a comparatively restrained hand, then put on 120 with his twin, Steve, who joined him as only the second player to score 7,000 one-day runs for Australia. Mark continued until victory was achieved with six overs to spare, finishing on 102 not out.

Man of the Match: A. D. R. Campbell.
