Brown five-for puts Jamaica on top

Legspinner Odean Brown's five-wicket haul put Jamaica in a position to beat the Windward Islands on day three in Dominica and reclaim the position at the top of the points table. Tamar Lambert (92) and Wavell Hinds (53) gave Jamaica a 147-run first-innings lead after which Brown triggered a collapse - Windwards losing six wickets for 25 runs - to keep Jamaica's title ambitions alive. The openers Johnson Charles and Keddy Lesporis gave Windwards a steady 73-run start but then Brown struck in quick succession, removing Lesporis for 28 and No. 3 Andre Fletcher for a duck. When Nikita Miller had Kevin James stumped for 6, Windwards were reduced to 76 for 3. Brown then took three more wickets to leave struggling Windwards at 98 for 6 at stumps.

Eleven wickets fell on day two in Barbados as Leewards Islands gained an 85-run first-innings lead against Combined Campuses and Campuses. Barbados' last-wicket pair added 26 in the morning to take them to 275. Then Lionel Baker and Anthony Martin shared seven wickets between them to wrap up CCC inside 69 overs. Opener Simon Jackson top scored with 71 and tided over an early collapse to take his side to 100 for 4 at tea. But the resistance did not last long and the last six wickets fell for 60 runs. Leewards openers added 13 more to the lead before close of play.

Kieron Pollard fell six short of what would have been his third first-class century in Trinidad & Tobago's imposing first-innings total of 530 for 8 declared against Guyana at the Providence Stadium. Gibran Mohammed chipped in with an unbeaten fifty. Guyana began their reply strongly with a 99-run opening stand. But they were set back when Imran Khan dismissed the openers in quick succession. At stumps they trailed T&T by 385 runs.
