The warning
Ahmed Shehzad was making his comeback after recovering from a head injury he suffered during the Test series and was on the charge. In the third over, Shehzad made a sharp stop at point and looked towards the batsman, Anton Devcich, wagging his finger as if to say: 'Don't think about running'.
The unwanted sequence
Like Daniel Vettori, Dean Brownlie also played his first T20 international for New Zealand after a two-year gap. It was only his fifth game since his debut in 2010 and unfortunately for him, the comeback wasn't too memorable. Brownlie was trapped leg before for a duck by Shahid Afridi, stuck in his crease while trying to turn the ball down the leg side. It was his third duck in four T20 innings.
The big miss
Sarfraz Ahmed was the second batsman in the game to fall to a doubtful decision. Sarfraz was beaten for pace by Anton Devcich as he attempted a sweep and the ball was going down the leg side. The umpire ruled in favour of New Zealand though, giving Devcich his first T20 wicket in his first stint as an opening bowler.
The tumbling take
Lately, a T20 game seems to be missing something if there isn't a tumbling catch or two. Friday's quota was completed by Kane Williamson, who ran back from mid-off and made sure he kept himself under a skier from Anwar Ali. The New Zealand captain took the catch safely just over his head and managed to hold on despite a backward tumble.
