Hamilton Masakadza to lead Zimbabwe in all three formats through 2019-20

Hamilton Masakadza has been confirmed as Zimbabwe's captain in all three formats, with Peter Moor appointed his deputy, for the 2019-20 season, Zimbabwe Cricket said on Tuesday.

The appointments of Masakadza and Moor were among the resolutions passed by ZC's board of directors, and included appointing a team manager and confirming a three-man selection panel.

The 35-year-old Masakadza had been named the interim captain after Graeme Cremer was removed from the post following Zimbabwe's World Cup qualifier campaign at home, where they failed to finish in the top two and qualify for the 2019 event. Masakadza will now continue in his role for the next season. He has extensive experience of leading Zimbabwe in the past, having captained in three Tests, 20 ODIs and 11 T20Is, with his first time in charge dating back to January 2008.

Moor has never led at the international level, but he has reasonable experience at leading sides in the Zimbabwe domestic circuit, having been in charge for ten first-class matches, 11 List A matches, and 3 Twenty20 matches over the years.

ZC also announced Walter Chawaguta, Prosper Utseya and Kenyon Ziehl as "substantive members" of the Zimbabwe national selection panel. Chawaguta remained the convenor of selectors.

The other appointment made was of Dilip Chouhan, who will be the team manager for the men's senior side, the 'A' team and the Under-19 team.
