India v Pakistan, 2012-13

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20 International, India v Pakistan, 2012-13

15-Apr-2013
At Ahmedabad, December 28, 2012 (floodlit). India won by 11 runs. Toss: Pakistan.
This was a tale of two devastating innings, with India holding their nerve to register a series-levelling victory. Batting first, they had no great impetus for 12 overs before Yuvraj Singh began clearing the rope with the casual disdain of a man swatting flies during his best score in the format, adding 97 in 7.2 overs with Dhoni. Pakistan's usually parsimonious trio of spinners went for 86 in eight wicketless overs, and it was left to Umar Gul to limit the damage.
Pakistan were boosted by handy contributions from their top three, but it was the captain, Mohammad Hafeez, who kept India on edge with an innings even more rapid than Yuvraj's. It wasn't until he holed out to the second ball of the penultimate over that the crowd really believed the game was safe. Dinda, with his awkward-looking leap and lively pace, picked up three key wickets.
Man of the Match: Yuvraj Singh.
Man of the Series: Mohammad Hafeez.
