India v Zimbabwe, 2013

Wisden's review of the fourth ODI, India v Zimbabwe, 2013

15-Apr-2014
At Bulawayo, August 1, 2013. Fourth one-day international: India won by nine wickets. Zimbabwe 144 (42.4 overs) (M. N. Waller 35, E. Chigumbura 50*; A. Mishra 3-25); ‡India 145-1 (30.5 overs) (R. G. Sharma 64*, S. K. Raina 65*). MoM: M. Sharma (India). ODI debuts: C. A. Pujara, M. Sharma (India). It was hoped Zimbabwe might find batting easier in Bulawayo but, after Taylor lost his third toss his demoralised batsmen were shot out for 144. Mohit Sharma, 24, with just six domestic List A matches to his name, enjoyed an impeccable first day out as he found Raza's edge in his opening spell, and returned to snap a stubborn 80-run stand between Malcolm Waller and Elton Chigumbura, who had again been left high and dry. Cheteshwar Pujara made only 13 in his first limited-overs innings for India, but Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina (sent in ahead of Kohli) helped themselves to fifties.
