PAKISTAN v INDIA 1954-55

15-Apr-1956
When it seemed that a result might be possible at last, a heavy thunderstorm interfered on the third day, and so the series ended with all five matches drawn. The fast-medium bowling of Ramchand worried Pakistan when they won the toss for the fourth time. India fared just as badly against Khan Mohammad and Fazal Mahmood, and they finished 17 behind on first innings. These two innings were over by the second day but Pakistan were held up by the rain which limited play to an hour and forty minutes on the third day. Alim-ud-Din checked a collapse and made his first Test century for Pakistan. Kardar helped him add 155 at almost a run a minute, some of the fastest scoring of the series, but too much time had been lost for a result when India went in to get 259 to win.
