PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1990-91

At Multan, November 13

15-Apr-1992
At Multan, November 13. Pakistan won by 31 runs. Toss: Pakistan. West Indies were beaten 3-0 in a three-match one-day series for only the second time, and the defeat provided Pakistan with their first series win against them. Pakistan, batting first, lost Shoaib Mohammad and Zahid Fazal within seven balls, but Saeed Anwar and Salim Malik added 51 runs before Malik was caught at the wicket in the twelfth over. Newcomer Moin Khan batted bravely to add 58 runs for the sixth wicket with Imran Khan, who when 12 reached 1,000 runs against West Indies.
The West Indians were 35 without loss in the tenth over, with Greenidge having passed 5,000 runs in one-day internationals, but the dismissals of Haynes and Richardson arrested the run-rate: only 23 runs came in the next ten overs. Then in successive overs Mushtaq Ahmed bowled Best and Logie and the tourists were out of contention. Hooper, however, stayed until the end and gained useful practice against the spinners.
Man of the Match: Imran Khan.
