West Indies v Zimbabwe, 2012-13

Wisden's review of the second ODI between West Indies and Zimbabwe, 2012-13

15-Apr-2014
At St George's, Grenada, February 24, 2013. Second one-day international: West Indies won by seven wickets. ‡Zimbabwe 273-8 (50 overs) (V. Sibanda 51, H. Masakadza 60, C. R. Ervine 80; D. J. Bravo 6-43); West Indies 274-3 (49 overs) (K. O. A. Powell 57, R. R. Sarwan 120*, N. Deonarine 42, K. A. Pollard 41*). MoM: D. J. Bravo. ODI debut: T. L. Chatara (Zimbabwe).
Zimbabwe's total - their third-highest against West Indies in ODIs - was founded on a fourth-wicket partnership of 110 between Masakadza and Craig Ervine. Both were among stand-in captain Dwayne Bravo's six wickets, his one-day best. Powell and Sarwan, promoted to open instead of Charles, who had strained a hamstring, laid the foundation for West Indies, putting on 111. Had umpire Peter Nero called for a TV replay to confirm a clear-cut run-out when Sarwan had 53, West Indies might have found their task more demanding. And while they needed Pollard's 41 off 20 balls to seal the issue with an over to spare, Sarwan was still there at the end, having completed his fifth ODI hundred.
