South Africa v Pakistan, 2013-14

Wisden's review of the first Twenty20 International, South Africa v Pakistan, 2013-14

15-Apr-2014
At Johannesburg, November 20, 2013 (floodlit). South Africa won by four runs (D/L). Toss: Pakistan. Twenty20 international debut: Bilawal Bhatti.
When a downpour ended the match Pakistan were comfortably placed, needing 94 from 65 balls with eight wickets left on a hard, true pitch and a fast outfield - but they narrowly lost out on Duckworth/Lewis. Du Plessis, South Africa's Twenty20 captain, admitted his side had been "a bit fortunate". De Kock and Amla had given them a flying start, but the spinners applied the brakes. Shahid Afridi whipped through four overs for 14, and only some late hitting from Miller took the total past 150.
Man of the Match: Q. de Kock.
