Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 2014

Wisden's review of the third ODI, Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 2014

15-Apr-2015
At Dambulla, August 30, 2014. Third one-day international: Sri Lanka won by seven wickets (D/L). ‡Pakistan 102 (32.1 overs) (Fawad Alam 38*; N. L. T. C. Perera 4-34); Sri Lanka 104-3 (18.2 overs) (T. M. Dilshan 50*). MoM: N. L. T. C. Perera. MoS: N. L. T. C. Perera.
A crowd of 17,000 witnessed a miserable batting display from Pakistan, who limped into three figures thanks only to their last pair. Crucially, Perera took four wickets to make sure Pakistan's dangerous lower order would not erupt. He also held the catch at deep point - to remove Afridi - which ended Pakistan's hopes of a competitive score: 102 was their puniest one-day total in Sri Lanka. Tillekeratne Dilshan anchored the chase, bringing up victory and his own half-century by lacing Afridi through point. Saeed Ajmal returned after missing the first two one-day games to undergo testing on his action in Brisbane, but had little chance to shine. Sri Lanka, chasing a revised 101 in 48 overs, won the series 2-1, after a match that lasted little more than 50.
