Netherlands' score of 39 all out is the lowest in T20 internationals. The previous lowest was Kenya's 56 against Afghanistan in Sharjah in 2013.

Netherlands' previous lowest was 73, against Barbados in the Caribbean T20 tournament in 2011-12. Their previous lowest in an international match was 86, against Ireland in the World T20 Qualifier in 2009-10.

Netherlands also made the second lowest total in any T20 match (international and domestic). Tripura were bowled out for 30 by Jharkhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2009-10.

Netherlands' innings was the shortest completed innings in terms of balls faced. They lasted 11 balls fewer than the previous lowest: South Africa's 74-ball inningsagainst Pakistan in Centurion last year. Netherlands' innings is the second shortest completed innings in all T20s. Mohemmedan Sporting Club lasted 8.4 overs against the Prime Bank Cricket Club in this T20 match.

Sri Lanka have won 12 international matches - across formats - in a row, in less than two months. Their streak started with their win in the first match of the T20I series against Bangladesh last month. Sri Lanka's last loss in an international match came against Pakistan in Sharjah earlier this year.

Lasith Malinga took two wickets in the match, taking his tally of wickets in World T20s to 36 - the most for any bowler. He is closely followed by Ajantha Mendis, whose three wickets took him past Saeed Ajmal to the second place.

Angelo Mathews' figures in this match equalled his best in T20Is. He had taken 3 for 16 against West Indies at The Oval in the 2009 World T20.

Sri Lanka completed the shortest chase in T20 internationals, winning with 90 balls to spare. The previous shortest chase was Ireland's ten-wicket over Kenya, with 76 balls to spare.

Nuwan Kulasekara had figures of 1 for 0 from two overs in this match, only the third instance of a bowler taking a wicket without conceding a run in a T20I. The other two such performances were by Albie Morkel, against England. It is also the only instance of a bowler bowling two or more overs in a T20I without conceding a run.
