UAE captain
Muhammad Waseem decided to field first after winning the toss against Bangladesh in the second T20I in Sharjah. The hosts left Sanchit Sharma and Mohammad Zuhaib out. In their place, they handed a debut to medium-pace bowler
Saghir Khan, and also brought in wicketkepeer-batter
Aryansh Sharma.
Emon missed out despite scoring a century in the first game, with the BCB putting his absence down to a "precautionary measure" after he experienced "discomfort in his left groin" while batting in the previous match.
Mustafizur, meanwhile, wasn't playing due to him having flown to India to play for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, where he got into action immediately on the day after playing the first T20I against UAE.
Earlier on Monday, the day of the second T20I, another
T20I was added to the tour, which initially comprised only two games. Thus, victory for Bangladesh in the second T20I would mean they gain an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
