9.1 to T de Zorzi, they have their man finally! Welch takes a superb catch at gully. All that pressure build up over the past few overs leads to the wicket. de Zorzi sees one short and wide, so he thinks there's finally an opportunity to break free, so he throws his hands at that but hits it to Welsh, who is alert at gully to pluck a superb catch as he times his jump to perfection. This was absolutely flying.. 11/1 50.2 to DG Bedingham, It's Chivanga again..loud cry and gone.. Shade fuller and it swings, nips back in and thuds around the knee roll. Big-loud appeal and Richard Illingworth acknowledges. Bedingham takes a long walk back. 208/3
21.3 | 1 | 124 | 2 | 5.76 | 76 | 17 | 2 | 0 | 0
81.1 to LG Pretorius, the young man has thrown it away! Pretorius looks to give him the charge and swing this into the stands over deep midwicket, but ends up getting a top-edge to mid-on. It went a mile high but Masakadza never looked like dropping it. Called, settled underneath, got himself still underneath and pouched it nice and safe. A century was there for the taking. Pretorius has gifted his wicket away. Matigimu has a first Test wicket. . 425/4 96.4 to D Brevis, goneski! A feather through to the keeper, and Brevis falls for 30! On a short of a length outside off. Brevis throws his hands at it, trying to crash it through the off side. Probably tries to hit it too hard and only ends up getting a healthy nick through to the keeper. Brevis shakes his head in disappointment as he walks off. There were Test runs for the taking, and he will feel he has left a few out there!. 513/5

13.5 to L Senokwane, big appeal for lbw and that's a massive wicket. Senokwane commits a serious mistake in trying to paddle-sweep a full delivery and gets into a tangle. That would've hit middle of middle.. 24/2

0.1 to T Kaitano, nicked and gone first ball! South Africa, just like that, are on the board, and Yusuf has produced an absolute pearler first up! This is right in the corridor and on a fullish length. Swerves away late and Kaitano, caught on the crease, has no option but to spar at it. Does so with zero footwork and all he manages is a feather through to the keeper. Yusuf is delighted, South Africa are overjoyed; Kaitano and Zimbabwe, not quite!. 0/1 6.5 to NR Welch, what turns out to be an appeal for lbw is finally given out caught at gully because the ball lobbed off the inside edge onto the pad. Welch was looking to flick through midwicket but was late on the shot as the ball alarmingly came back in. He was caught scrambling to play the ball, only for it to loop up to the cordon.. 15/3
7 | 1 | 27 | 1 | 3.85 | 28 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
1.4 to D Myers, another outside edge, and another easy take for Verreynne! Zimbabwe two down inside as many overs! Back of a length in that probing corridor just outside off. Myers, like Kaitano a little earlier, is unsure of whether to play at this or not. Does so half-heartedly in the end and sends a healthy edge through to the keeper. Bosch in on the act too, and this has been a superb start for South Africa with the ball!. 4/2
6 | 2 | 20 | 2 | 3.33 | 28 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
16.5 to CR Ervine, popped up into the air, and Mulder can do no wrong here in Bulawayo! This is a brutish delivery, pitching on a back of a length outside off and kicking up at Ervine. He looks to defend but the ball rises so swiftly that it catches a the shoulder of the bat. Loops up towards backward point, where Yusuf makes no mistake and Mulder, after plundering Zimbabwe with the bat, is back to haunt them with the ball too!. 51/4 18.6 to W Madhevere, can he do anything wrong today? Nope! Bowls one short of a length and just outside off, this one keeps a tad low but Madhevere makes the mistake of hanging back and ends up chopping on. The skid may have played its part as well. Zimbabwe in the danger of being bowled out in a session.. 56/5
13 | 2 | 59 | 1 | 4.53 | 51 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 1 | |
23.5 to TE Tsiga, there's Muthusamy's first Test wicket upon return after more than nine months. And it's a very ordinary delivery that fetches him one. The batter tries to rock back and pull this shortish delivery and ends up top-edging it to short cover.. 82/6
10 | 1 | 42 | 4 | 4.20 | 43 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
30.3 to WP Masakadza, edged and gobbled up! Subrayen has his maiden Test wicket, and he will cherish this moment! Fizzed through devilishly on a length just outside off. Drifts in initially before gripping and spinning away. Masakadza, trapped on the crease, goes fishing at it and gets a thick outside edge that is snaffled up at first slip by Mulder (who else). Zimbabwe seven down, and in real danger of being bowled out tonight!. 109/7 32.5 to K Matigimu, off stump goes for a toss, and Subrayen has two on Test debut! Given a bit of air on a length just outside off. This ball, like the one that got Masakadza, drops late and Matigimu is nowhere to the pitch of the ball. He expects the ball to turn into him a lot more too and then watches in disbelief as the ball sneaks past the outside edge and sends off stump flying. Subrayen is all smiles, and so are South Africa!. 121/8 36.4 to B Muzarabani, hara-kiri from the big man! Can't resist temptation as he looks to loft this tossed up delivery over mid-off, but ends up getting no elevation, and hits it flat to the fielder. Third wicket on debut for Subrayen.. 135/9 42.6 to TL Chivanga, oh dear - that is a soft, soft dismissal, and Williams is left stranded on 83! This is given some air again, on a fullish length outside off. Chivanga wants to punch this down the ground but does not get on top of the bounce entirely. Pops it straight to Maphaka at short mid on, and that will be that for the Zimbabwean innings!. 170/10 |

52.3 to W Madhevere, confident appeal for lbw, and given in a hurry! Madhevere is beaten by the pace, as he was stuck in the crease. On the shorter side of a length, and pitching on middle and off, as the ball swung in. I think it just straightened after pitching, and rammed into the side of Madhevere's front pad as he looked to fend at it but missed. Yusuf hadn't even completed his appeal, before the umpire's finger went up. That would have probably gone on to strike the middle and/or off stump. 166/5 58.3 to TE Tsiga, chipped to short midwicket! That fielder was placed midway into Yusuf's last over, and it works rather quickly. Yusuf angled this in, and there was no swing this time, as the ball landed on a fullish length on middle and leg. Tsiga went pushing hard at it, and ended up playing aerially while also leaning forward. Senokwane grabbed it with a reverse cup and in front of his face gleefully, and Yusuf and co hardly even celebrate. 177/6

9.2 to D Myers, the middle-stump goes on a cartwheel! Myers plants forward but down the wrong line, is done in by the late inward movement as the ball sneaks through the big gap between bat and pad. South Africa strike again!. 31/1 64.1 to CR Ervine, Gets the big fish. Around the wicket, neither too short, nor too full, lured him with a widish delivery and he went chasing it, playing away from his body and nicking it to the keeper. The resistance is quickly melting away after some spirited fightback in the morning session. Ervine misses out on fifty. Drew him forward and induced a faint edge. 182/7 64.4 to K Matigimu, disturbs the furniture! three slips and a gully waiting for an edge and Bosch rattles the stumps with a crackerjack! Sends the off-stump cartwheeling. Charges in angles it in from wide of the crease, looping into off-stump and he plays down the wrong line, pleasing sight for the bowler as South Africa hare towards a massive win. 182/8 68.5 to B Muzarabani, Back of a length and this one cuts back in from sixth stump line, flings the bat out and the outside edge is drawn, taken by third slip, pockets a good low catch and Muzarabani goes without bothering the scorers. Bosch is getting the job done, shedding wickets and wrapping it up quickly. This delivery bounced extra. 184/9

28.5 to SC Williams, bowled him!! The off stump is uprooted, and Mulder's game keeps getting better. Oh, wait!! His heel is landing just on the line, thus showing nothing can prevent him from having his way in this Test. Mulder angled this across, and pitched it on a length on middle and off. I thought the ball stayed a little low that what Williams expected, and he thus ended up bending while looking to block it. He missed it, though, and the off stump came off in a flash. 103/3

23.2 to T Kaitano, chipped to cover! Muthusamy strikes second ball this morning. Brevis took it comfortably, and with a reverse cup, as Kaitano misses out on a big score. Muthusamy tossed this up, and went on a length outside off, lulling the batter with his lack of pace. Kaitano fell for that, and ended up giving away a simple catch. South Africa now eight wickets away. 64/2 49.6 to NR Welch, gone!! Taken by Mulder at slip! This one lands right into his hands, and at a comfortable height as well. Muthusamy tossed this ball up, and angled it in from around the wicket to go full and on middle. Like the previous ball, this one turned away as well. And like in the previous over from Muthusamy, Welch went to clip but closed the face of the bat too early. The ball went off the leading edge to Mulder, who took it with hardly any movement. 153/4 77.3 to TL Chivanga, cries of catch it and taken at short leg, went down for a sweep and got a top-edge. Fuller length and outside leg stump, wasn't on top of the bounce and lost control while executing it. South Africa register a resounding 236-run win. 220/10 |
