11.5 to AJ Strauss, Ajmal strikes! Pakistan really needed that and Strauss has gone! Slightly quicker from Ajmal, Strauss was trying to maul a sweep shot over deep square but missed and the ball clipped leg stump. Big wicket that, Strauss was playing beautifully. 78/1 24.3 to SM Davies, edged, and gone! Davies falls three ball after the drinks break for 87. More bounce than turn for Ajmal, but he's got the ball to do enough to take the top edge of Davies' cut and land safely in Kamran's gloves. That's just what Pakistan needed. They should attack now that the partnership's been broken. 153/2 29.5 to PD Collingwood, slog-swept again, but this time it's straight into the hands of Fawad Alam at long leg! The Powerplay brings a wicket, and Collingwood's gone for a quickfire 14. Ajmal strikes again!. 179/3 39.3 to IJL Trott, gone! Ajmal strikes again and Trott departs for another excellent innings, not glamorous but mighty effective. In the end he tried to hack a sweep shot away but got an inside-edge that cannoned into his stumps. 253/5

33.1 to EJG Morgan, gone this time! Good change from Afridi, bringing himself back on. Morgan aimed an expansive cut at a length ball, got a faint edge and Kamran Akmal held on again!. 205/4 |

37.6 to Shahid Afridi, Afridi goes, and with him - probably - go Pakistan's chances of winning this game. It was a slower ball, an offcutter, and he tried to launch it down the ground but sliced at the ball and got underneath it. Swann circles underneath the chance and holds on, bye bye BoomBoom!. 233/7 39.2 to Umar Gul, finally one reaches Morgan! Another slower ball from Anderson, a length delivery on middle. Gul swung it high into the leg side, but couldn't beat Morgan on the boundary. Nine down now. 244/9

28.1 to Fawad Alam, oh dear, horrible miscue from Alam. Nothing more than a length ball from Bresnan, Alam ran down the wicket and had an ugly, awful mow at it, ended up spooning a catch gently to Luke Wright, the substitute fielder at mid-on, dreadful end to a bright innings. 158/4 38.3 to Shoaib Akhtar, clatter! Bresnan has made a mess of Shoaib's stumps first ball. Full and straight, Shoaib didn't really have any choice but to swing at it but his head was in the air and he swiped right across the line at it. 238/8

32.6 to Umar Akmal, tragedy for Pakistan! Where did this shot come from? Umar went right across to the off side, getting into position to paddle-scoop to fine leg, but the ball took a thick leading edge and looped ever so gently to Davies.. 191/5
8 | 0 | 50 | 2 | 6.25 | 23 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
12.5 to Mohammad Hafeez, Swann strikes in his first over ... again! This owes everything to a brilliant diving catch from Bresnan at deep square leg. A top-edged sweep, good ground from a big lad, and a fingertip take diving forward. 62/1 22.5 to Kamran Akmal, gone this time! What a waste! Having got himself in and well set, Kamran skips down the wicket and mistimes a lofted drive straight to long-off! That will cheer Swann up. 123/3

17.1 to Mohammad Yousuf, huge wicket for England, and a timely one. A nothing ball from Yardy, on a good length and holding its line. Yousuf stepped across his wicket to clip through the leg side, but planted his pad and Doctrove had a simple decision. 82/2 35.6 to Asad Shafiq, full, straight and bowled! Shafiq went for the slog-sweep to an off stump delivery, missed the ball and looked back to see his stumps in a mess. Another one goes, is this curtains for Pakistan?. 218/6 |
