South Africa's batters were unable to convert starts which kept them to an under-par score at the Three Ws Oval

West Indies 116 for 4 (Matthews 63*, Mlaba 2-17) beat South Africa 113 for 6 (Dercksen 21*, Fletcher 2-13, Ramharack 2-25) by six wickets
Hayley Matthews' unbeaten 63 and two wickets each from Afy Fletcher and Karishma Ramharack helped West Indies beat South Africa and level the series 1-1 ahead of the decider on Monday. Six of South Africa's batters got to double figures but no one scored more than 21, which helped West Indies keep the score down to 113 before Matthews iced the chase at the Three Ws Oval in Barbados.
Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits got South Africa off to a good start after being put into bat. Wolvaardt hit Jahzara Claxton and Shawnisha Hector for boundaries in a 30-run opening stand before being dismissed for 16. Slater 96 sets up Nottinghamshire as Yorkshire stay in touch

Kishan unbeaten on 44 in first innings for new county as Hill, Moriarty take two wickets each

Nottinghamshire 298 for 6 (Slater 96, Hameed 52) vs Yorkshire
Ben Slater made 96, captain Haseeb Hameed 52 and new signing Ishan Kishan is 44 not out, but struggling Yorkshire had a case for claiming honours even against the Rothesay County Championship leaders, who finished day one at Trent Bridge on 298 for six.
Yorkshire, for whom seamer George Hill and spinner Dan Moriarty took two wickets each, are next to bottom of Division One with only one win from seven matches so far. They had the disappointment, too, of being unable to field Pakistan batter Abdullah Shafique after a visa delay prevented his debut.

India 471 and 90 for 2 (Rahul 47*, Stokes 1-18) lead England 465 (Pope 106, Brook 99, Duckett 62, Bumrah 5-83, Prasidh 3-128) by 96 runs
Harry Brook threw his head back in despair after picking out long leg but his innings of 99 set up a tantalising one-innings match at his home ground. India had three first-innings centurions to England's one and Jasprit Bumrah completed a dazzling five-for to prove he is a class above any other bowler on show, yet only six runs separated the two teams after eight sessions.
Reprieved before he had scored a run on the second evening thanks to Bumrah overstepping, Brook made India pay for their profligacy. He was dropped twice - on 46, then on 80 - but played several outrageous shots as he approached his first Headingley Test hundred, only to fall into a short-ball trap by pulling Prasidh Krishna down Shardul Thakur's throat.

Kent ensure James Anderson's captaincy debut doesn't go to plan

Compton, Muyeye notch half-centuries as Lancashire toil after inserting visitors at Blackpool

Kent 213 for 3 (Compton 86*, Muyeye 63) vs Lancashire
James Anderson's first day as Lancashire's interim skipper was spoiled by Ben Compton and the rain as Kent dominated the first day of the Rothesay County Championship match at Blackpool
Having lost the toss, the visitors were 213 for 3 when heavy showers caused play to be abandoned shortly after the scheduled tea interval. At that point, Compton was 86 not out and his 126-run stand with Tawanda Muyeye, who made 63, had been the centrepiece of the day. Anderson, on the other hand, might have been regretting his decision to insert Kent on what looks a true pitch.
