Stand-in captain Kiran Carlson lifted Glamorgan into promotion places with a five-wicket win over Kent at Sophia Gardens.
Kent's winless run in the Rothesay County Championship continued for an eighth match after setting just 189, which they were unable to defend on a sun-beaten day four in Cardiff. The visitors remain bottom of Division Two with their last win coming in April while Glamorgan move up to second ahead of Derbyshire.

Alice Davidson-Richards produced a game-changing fifty as Surrey ended Hampshire's winning streak in a rain-curtailed Metrobank Women's One Day Cup clash in Guildford.
Freya Kemp's 58 and Maia Bouchier's 51 gave Hampshire a platform for a big score, but wickets at regular intervals, including three for Phoebe Franklin, restricted the visitors to 278.

A series of starts took Kent to a respectable second innings to add pressure onto Glamorgan's day-four chase.
Harry Finch's 68 and Grant Stewart's counter-attacking 63 dragged Kent back into the contest after a first innings collapse hindered their chances against Glamorgan. Partnerships of 84 and 68 for the fifth and sixth wicket, respectively took the visitors to 360 - without full use of injured Joe Denly to enforce a nervous task of chasing 189 after first innings dominance from the hosts.

Ryan Higgins moved to the top of Middlesex's wicket-taking chart for the season as his side closed in on a Rothesay County Championship victory over Northamptonshire at Merchant Taylors' School.
Higgins finished with 4 for 51, with Noah Cornwell taking 3 for 48 as the visitors were made to follow on 364 behind - and the medium-pacer then grabbed two quick top-order wickets second time around to further improve his season's tally to 32.

Leicestershire closed in on another victory with England all-rounder Rehan Ahmed again playing a starring role on day three of the Rothesay County Championship match against Derbyshire at Derby.
Ahmed claimed 4 for 41 and 10 wickets in the Division Two match at the Central Co-op County Ground to leave the hosts on 98 for 4 at the close, still 347 runs away from a notional target of 446.

Ethan Brookes climbed into Warwickshire's bowlers again, in record-breaking fashion, to keep Worcestershire on course for a vital Rothesay County Championship victory at Edgbaston.
Of his side's second-innings total of 243, Brookes' share was a violent 87 from 137 balls. He struck seven sixes which, added to his eight in the first innings, amounted to 15 in the match - a record for any individual at Edgbaston, surpassing the 12 by Ian Botham for Somerset in 1985 and Dean Jones for Australia in 1989.

Opener Dom Sibley became the first batter in either division of the Rothesay County Championship to reach 1000 runs for the summer as Surrey responded strongly to Yorkshire's first-innings 517 for 6 declared from late morning onwards on day three at Scarborough.
Sibley is enjoying a superb 2025, highlighted by a career best 305 earlier this month against Durham, and he needed to reach 24 in this game to get to four figures.

A rain-hit 50-overs match on a club ground might bear little resemblance to a T20 at the Kia Oval but The Blaze will draw some confidence from a 47-run victory over Warwickshire Women in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup as a dress rehearsal of sorts for Sunday's Vitality Blast semi-final.
After Marie Kelly's List A career-best 66 and opening partner Georgia Boyce's 46 had laid the foundations for a total of 218 for 6 after opting to bat first in a match reduced to 39 overs-a-side, The Blaze dismissed Warwickshire for 171, despite a determined effort by Abbey Freeborn (56 off 73 balls) and Nat Wraith (75 off 71) to give the visitors a chance after being reduced to 13 for 4.
