Turner was part of the 1973 Championship winning side. He scored 1,000 first-class runs in a season nine times, and was also a useful one-day player. On retiring from the county game, he returned to Chippenham where he runs a key cutting and shoe repair business that he took over from his father. When he has time he plays social cricket and enjoys a round of golf.
