Edward Mignon died in Guy's Hospital of pneumonia aggravated by malaria. His fast bowling gained him a place as a professional in the Middlesex team from 1905 until 1913, and for the county he took 410 wickets. Against Kent at Tonbridge in 1907 he had an analysis of 12 for 90.  His best season was in 1911 when he took 85 wickets at 25.56.  In the Great War he saw service as a Lance-Corporal in the Army Service Corps.
