In 2024, Masabata Klaas snuck a delivery past a booming Ellyse Perry drive and rattled her stumps at North Sydney Oval - the noise on social media was as loud. Since then, as people have realised, the movement in the air and the tail back into the stumps after pitching are characteristics of Klaas' bowling.

Klaas has been around for a long time now, making her white-ball debuts in 2010, and it's her discipline that has kept her in the national set-up all through, as one of its most reliable players. One of her most remarkable achievements came when she became just the second South Africa player to take a women's ODI hat-trick - against Pakistan in May 2019. This on a day when she was feeling under the weather, and the pitch hadn't done much for the other bowlers.

She took a two-year break in 2013 to raise her daughter, but when she returned to the national side in 2015, it was as if she had never been away. Her ability to extract prodigious movement off the pitch to go with her accuracy keeps her going as one of South Africa's most dependable bowlers.
