8.4 to PR Stirling, nicked and gone! String of 20 dot balls and then Stirling pushes at one that leaves him late to get a faint nick. Gleefully accepted.. 37/1
10.5 to A Balbirnie, this is an absolute cracker! The off-stump has been flattened. Comes back in a long way after pitching and sneaks through the inside edge to hit the pad and crash into the stumps.. 41/3
59.6 to GH Dockrell, there's the wicket, finally. Draws him forward, gets it to leave him and induces the nick. It's all over, but this has been a terrific, terrific fightback by Ireland. Ahmadzai was brought back in precisely for this reason.. 172/10

9.4 to WTS Porterfield, squared up, struck on the pad and gone! Nabi gets this to drift back in from round the stumps, the length is just a touch full and Porterfield makes the grave mistake of playing back. He's squared up in doing so as the ball bites off the deck to strike him on the right pad. Didn't have much distance to travel and he's been given out lbw. 41/2
20.1 to KJ O'Brien, big appeal and given! Beats the inside edge and catches him in front of middle stump as KOB plants the foot across off stump to defend. Ireland are disappearing rapidly here, it's a frenzy. 59/6
22.1 to SR Thompson, taken at short leg! Length ball slanted in from around the wicket. Gets forward and pokes with hard hands to get an edge onto pad that pops up for short leg, straight into his body and not too many movements needed. 62/7
1252021.66591000
13.1 to JA McCollum, strikes first ball! It's the googly which he doesn't pick at all, plays down the wrong line and chops on through an inside edge. What a start for the superstar, Ireland are crumbling.. 55/4
13.3 to SW Poynter, struck full on the toe, gone. There's absolutely no application whatsoever. What injury? At the moment, it looks like Rashid can hobble in on one leg and still pick wickets. All be said, this was a full toss that should've been put away, he missed the flick completely, struck on leg. It may have missed leg? Touch harsh you may think. 55/5
1443522.50675000
29.3 to AR McBrine, bowled him! Where's the application. First in Tests for Salamkheil. He goes for an expansive sweep by trying to fetch it from outside off but the length isn't quite there and he chops on.. 69/8
39.1 to J Cameron-Dow, wicket after 30 minutes of pure frustration. Decision to play across the line has cost him dear. This one pitched on leg, spun away and skid through to beat the bat. Was better off trying to play it back. Ireland nine down.. 85/9

81.4 to Rahmat Shah, oh, dear. Heartbreak for Afghanistan! Rahmat Shah has chopped on and his maiden Test century, and Afghanistan's first, will have to wait! Harmless length ball outside off, he looks to play this behind square, brings his bat down at an angle but is denied the room and ends up chopping in. Rahmat's walk back is a long one, he is bitterly disappointed as is the rest of the dressing room. Can hear the hush around Kabul and elsewhere. The new ball has done the trick. 226/4
2747722.851277300
71.5 to Hashmatullah Shahidi, that should be plumb! It is given. Shahidi has thrown it away. Very ordinary shot after hours of solidity. Tossed up slowly at a middle stump line, there for a drive down the ground at best. He looks to sweep instead and is struck on the back thigh, right in front of middle stump. The stand is broken. Is there something in this for Ireland still?. 198/3
93.5 to Ikram Alikhil, through him! It was coming. Full ball dips in at leg stump and Ikram locks himself up with a big stride across off stump. Yorked in the end and that clatters into the stumps. McBrine breaks yet another partnership. 255/6
1809425.226514031
12.3 to Ihsanullah, huge appeal and given! Big strike, huge strike. The only thing that could have saved him was an inside edge, and there was none here. Ihsanullah stabs forward but doesn't account for the drift as the ball beats his prod to strike him plumb in front.. 27/1
20.5 to Mohammad Shahzad, holds on to a scorcher! Good composure from Cameron-Dow as Shahzad leaps down the pitch and absolutely drills this length ball back. Stood his ground and pouched it low. 68/2
17.352831.60891012
82.4 to Mohammad Nabi, Ireland are roaring back or what, it's the huge scalp of Nabi and this is a soft dismissal. Chipped this leg-side half-volley straight to midwicket. 227/5
104.4 to Asghar Afghan, looks to flay this behind point but gets a thick bottom edge and it's well taken by the wicketkeeper! Good knock, that bordered on the outrageous at times but that's the way he plays. He'll look to dance down and swipe you out of nowhere, then buckle down. Worked today.. 311/9
106.3 to Wafadar Momand, cramped for room as he looks to cut, the ball gets big on him and deflects off the shoulder of the bat to Balbirnie at slip.. 314/10
1846323.50818200
96.5 to Rashid Khan, traps him in front of middle! Dockrell is overjoyed, it's sweet revenge for him. Length ball slides on with the arm. Rashid's bat is trying to come in across and in front of his pad, but he ends up hitting his toe. The ball is past the inside edge and raps him at shin height. No doubt about that. 272/7
98.4 to Yamin Ahmadzai, another one trapped on the front foot. Not as obvious as the Rashid dismissal, but this one is probably clipping leg stump. Arm ball beats the inside edge as he gets forward to defend for the turn. 280/8

0.2 to WTS Porterfield, this is a corker of a delivery by Yamin! Porterfield had to play at that one. Bowled this full, across and much closer to the stumps. The previous delivery slanted across, this one pitched and held its line to take the thin edge through to the keeper. Wow. 0/1
16.2 to PR Stirling, how unlucky is Stirling! Gets a thick inside edge onto the pad, but not spotted by S Ravi. The length ball nips back in, he's drawn into a forward push and is on the move as this gets the inside edge. No DRS, so he quietly tucks the bat under his arm-pit and walks off. What a disappointment. 33/2
92.6 to TJ Murtagh, oh, dear. Plays one shot too many. Short ball, nothing ball really, it's there for him to play anywhere he likes behind square on the off side, but he makes the grave mistake of fetching the pull from way outside off, top-edges it and deep midwicket runs in, keeps his composure and takes a simple catch. Afghanistan need 147 for victory . 288/10
2015802.90908000
3478252.411519000
49.4 to JA McCollum, one brings two! Rashid gets him with a slider. Plays all around this one that just drifts into middle, the fizz is too quick for McCollum to whip, and once he missed, there was only one way he was going back and that was to the pavillion. Afghanistan have come roaring back. 141/4
55.5 to SR Thompson, the turn has done the trick. Thompson stabs outside the line to a sharp turning legbreak, this beats the inside edge to strike him on the pad. All said, I think the impact may have just been outside off. Hang on, so we've been told he's been given out caught at slip. So the umpire thought there was some bat on it then.. 157/6
78.3 to GH Dockrell, massive strike and just like Ireland lost a wicket immediately after lunch, they lose one immediately after tea. Dockrell rapped on the pad by a length ball that drifts in a long way. The point of impact was on leg stump, and there was considerable distance for the ball to travel. In all likelihood, this could've missed leg, and Dockrell can consider himself unlucky. S Ravi isn't having a Test to remember.. 220/7
80.2 to KJ O'Brien, once again the slider does the trick. Fizz off the pitch, O'Brien plays all around it when he may have been better off playing straight. Impact on leg but in trying to play back, he was deep inside the crease. S Ravi thought about it for a while and this time it may have been only a marginal call at best. Ireland's hopes extinguish?. 229/8
82.3 to AR McBrine, Stumping appeal, beaten by the googly as he sweeps. Was the back leg grounded? Well, it was but not inside the crease. Injudicious sweep that he had to fetch from way outside off, not to be. Maiden Test five-for for Rashid Khan. . 230/9
1726623.886910000
48.4 to A Balbirnie, there's no century for Balbirne! He's been good largely but the left-arm wristspinner has done the trick with an excellent stock ball. He shapes to drive, expecting the ball to spin in when this one holds it's line, enough to take the nick, but young Ikram on debut takes this wonderfully behind the stumps. Rose with the bounce and let this lodge in. Big, big wicket. Huge disappointment for Balbirnie. 137/3
52.6 to SW Poynter, what a catch! He goes over the wicket to slant this across on a length, Ponytner shapes to cut but doesn't quite have the width, he goes through nonetheless to get a thick edge. This absolutely flies off the blade, it is travelling but as it comes off the bat, Ishanullah moves instinctively to his right and puts his right hand out to snaffle this. Early contenders for 'catch of the year'. What reflexes.. 150/5

9.4 to Mohammad Shahzad, he's got him down leg side! McBrine, breaking resistances. Again and again and again. A loose delivery though, length and going down leg side. He tries to flick and gets a faint edge on this. How many times have we seen this happening to batsmen that go into a shell? Might looked to wallop that on another day, but he's played right into Ireland's hands this evening. 5/1
5.502414.11182000
47.3 to Rahmat Shah, oooh, he's got the worst luck! Missed his century in the first innings by two runs. Falls with Afghanistan three away from a historic win. Poor Rahmat. He did all the hard work and now with the target one hit away, he goes for that one hit, running down the track and being deceived by the change in length from Cameron-Dow. Swings wildly anyway, all across the line, is beaten by the turn and stumped fairly easily. 144/2
