short and just enough width for Franklin to cut backward of square for four
New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI at Christchurch, Feb 11 2010 - Ball by Ball Commentary
New Zealand won by 3 wickets (with 31 balls remaining)
New Zealand take the match by three wickets and the series 3-0. It was a valliant display by Bangladesh who really made the hosts work hard for victory today.
Imrul's maiden ODI century was the highlight of the match and although Guptill made a sparkling 91, it was a shame to see him give it away when three figures were beckoning.
Shakib bowled nicely, taking four for 33, and, it seems, he is learning how to bowl on New Zealand's pitches, especially when you consider how different the condtions are compared to his tracks at home.
For New Zealand, Southee (3 for 37) and Vettori (3 for 42) were the pick of the bowlers. Vettori will be a little disappointed with how they chased the mediocre total, but having said that, you can't ask for too much more than a 3-0 series victory. Shakib and Bangladesh will take a lot of heart out of their performance tonight and , if they could've added an extra 20-30 runs at the death, the match would've been far tighter and they weren't too far away.
The Man of the Match is Martin Guptill for his run-a-ball 91 which was the backbone of ew Zealand's chase.
