all over for Zimbabwe, that is the game for Bangladesh, Meth is not going to come out to bat, widish delivery, he goes after it from the crease and hits it to backward point
Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh, 5th ODI at Bulawayo, Aug 21 2011 - Ball by Ball Commentary
This is Abhishek Purohit signing off for one final time in this series. Keep joining us for more action from around the cricketing world. Cheers!
Taylor gets the series trophy, Meth joins in as well feeling his sore mouth gingerly. A happy Zimbabwe unit pose with the trophy and that brings us to an end of this series.
Brendan Taylor: "Bit disappointed with the way we ended but pretty chuffed with the series win, we will enjoy it. We played well as a collective unit, guys put their hands up and batted deep, bowlers did well and we fielded well. We are in a good place right now [with the depth in the squad] and it is nice to have options. We will get back to some hard work and see where we can improve on for the Pakistan series. Massive thank you to the crowd, they have come out and are getting bigger, hopefully we can put some smiles on their faces."
Brian Vitori is the Man of the Series for his match-winning performances that gave Zimbabwe the series. Vitori: "We have done all the hard work, had two months of preparation, I am not surprised that we did well. I was just having a problem with my shin and had to rest it [for the last two games]. Hopefully I will be ready for the Test against Pakistan."
Shakib Al Hasan is the Man of the Match. Shakib: "All the boys showed some character that we are not here just to play the game. It was painful (the injured finger), not too much worry, it should be alright. Newcomers have shown lots of promise, our fast bowlers have done well throughout the series. Everything came well in the last two games, We were coming off a break from international cricket, so it was not going to be easy for the guys."
Handshakes all around, that is the end of the series. So Bangladesh coming back in this series after it was gone, the third game was within their reach, it was one straight hit away but they could not do it. Poor batting performance from Zimbabwe today, they could do nothing against the spinners once Sibanda fell. Shakib doing it again for Bangladesh, 216 runs in the series at an average of 54 (bettered only by Sibanda), and six wickets at under five an over
length ball forced off the front foot towards extra cover
bob: "@Jake, I have a secret recipe for hats, it's family tradition. Given Mahmudullah gets the remaining wickets, I will send you the recipe."
another one goes, Utseya departs now, shortish one, he tries to go back in the crease and pull it through square leg, tame top edge, swirls up tamely and shot fine leg is waiting under it
pushed through quicker, and he gets forward to defend
turns in from off, he plays it towards midwicket
worked off the back foot to midwicket
that is it for Waller and for Zimbabwe I say, down on the knee and tries to slog-sweep over midwicket, gets it straight to the man in the deep, been an entertaining innings, and has brought Zimbabwe back a shade but he has given it away
goes hard at the sweep from outside off and gets it in front of square leg
Albert: "If Mahmudullah gets the next 4 wickets you will get to eat all the hats in your house Jake!"
hurls it in full with the angle, flicked to midwicket
pushed in to the off side for a single
loud appeal for leg before, Shafiul is sure he has his man, angled in and strikes him in front of middle and leg, could have gone down leg, but close enough to merit a big shout
pushed in front of point for a single
opens the face and pushes towards point
crack! that resounded around the ground as Waller gets to his 50 with a smashing drive off the front foot that goes through sweeper cover, that was struck really hard and Kayes did not have much time to move to his right
Shafiul is back
bowled quicker and turning in on leg, nudged towards square leg
pushed on the off side, they are throwing themselves around in the field, extra cover dives to his left and rips the throw in, Utseya has to put in a big dive of his own as well at the striker's end
direct hit, overthrows, collision, batsman going down, all happening, it was nudged in front of midwicket who found the non-striker;s stumps, Utseya was just in and also got four more as the ball ricocheted to the boundary, he then collided with the bowler, and went tumbling in to the ground
hits him on the body as he goes back and it bounces and turns in
pushes solidly forward in defence
his technique is working for him at the moment, shuffles outside off and whips it over midwicket with the turn
